Since I have not had much art instruction, and had never worked with watercolors before, I was not sure what to expect from my class with Glen What a pleasant surprise! By the time we had finished the first class we had learned several different watercolor techniques and I had created two paintings that were good enough for me to hang in my home. In the six weeks we had with Glen, not only did we work with watercoors but he also covered the basics of materials, color, perspective, composition, and even matting! I learned more in this class than I had ever learned on my own. It was evident that Glen put a lot of thought into the structure of his course and preparation. One of the things I liked the most was that although there was some demonstration in the class, most of the time was spent with the students actually using what was taught to create their own pieces. The approach was focused but easy and relaxed and we all had agreat time! I have already signed up for Glen's next class and can confidently recommend his course as a great value and terrifi learning experience. Don't miss out on this one! Karen Williams |

I would like to thank the Maitland Art Center for providing the six week, beginning watercolor class I just completed. Glen Ward, the instructor, is absolutely fantastic. He is one of those gifted people who have the ability and the patience to teach. Each class was better than the previous, which seemed impossible, but Glen was the reason. Aside from being a very talented artist, he truly wanted each of us to succeed and fall in love with painting. Everyone in our class did just that. None of us wanted to leave when the class was over. He is amazing! Having never, ever, painted anything, I had no real hopes of painting something that really looked good. Guess what, I did! Glen taught us a myriad of techniques and always invited questions and comments and he never seemed to mind explaining again if any of us needed help. The fee for the course was affordable and an incredible value for twenty-four hours of instruction and painting. With his encouragement, I signed up for a family membership at MAC. Everyone in our class plans to enroll for future classes as we all had so much fun and learned so much. This course was one of the most fun things I have done in my life and I look forward to the next class and hearing Glen exclaim, “YES! YES!
